Karita Rytivaara is architect, university teacher, researcher. Karita as an architect has always concentrated in restoration and renovation field. Post-war modernism has been the main passion in her life. At the office Karita’s work mainly concerns historically protected surroundings. She is also a part-time teacher in Aalto University in a course about preserving layers in the city. For her, design decisions should be connected to the place and history. Material that we are surrounded with should be investigated patiently.
