Suzanne is Assistant Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.  She completed her PhD in Urban and Regional Studies at MIT and her Master of Architecture at the  University of Waterloo. Her dissertation and current book project explores the politics of urban  development and image-making in Tbilisi, Georgia and Skopje, North Macedonia. Prior to her PhD,  Suzanne was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture in Canada and  Invited Lecturer at the Black Sea University in Tbilisi. Suzanne is a licensed architect in Canada and has  worked at design/research practices across the globe. While at Toronto-based Lateral Office, she served  as Deputy Curator for the 2014 Canada Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, which received the  jury’s Special Mention. Dr. Harris-Brandts’ research and teaching interests focus on the socio-political  aspects of design and designer agency, topics she has explored in the South Caucasus, Canadian North,  and Occupied Palestinian Territories.
