03.11.20
Workshop Gldanipoly was conducted by the Urban Experiment Group in the frames of the ACT UP Project and with support of the Tbilisi Architecture Biennial 2020. It pursued the goal to study formal and nonformal public spaces of Gldani district, their unique features, atmosphere, urban legends and locations and discover, register, research, process and present them.
Investigation revealed the meaning of these spaces for everyday life of the city and a specific neighborhood, their potential and the ways of transformation and adapting to current challenges. During the workshop students applied “bottom up” and “hands on” approaches to establish close cooperation with the local population, considering their ideas and demands during the study and designing of objects.
